August 9, 2018 -- Tampa, FL -- Little Global Citizens, the monthly subscription box that introduces children to the world through exploration of other countries, has announced a partnership with the Glazer Children’s Museum. Beginning in September, Little Global Citizens will curate weekly interactive programs in the Museum’s Global Café, showcasing a different country’s culture through the eyes of a child who lives there.

The goal is to help children in Tampa Bay develop understanding and empathy towards children just like themselves, the world over.

“We’re thrilled to continue our mission of fostering open-mindedness and global awareness in the next generation through this partnership with the Glazer Children’s Museum,” said Akeelah Kuraishi, Founder of Little Global Citizens. “We believe that teaching empathy and understanding in our children is more important than ever, and are pleased to partner with a fantastic organization that aligns with our vision.”

Each month, the Museum’s Global Café will highlight a new country through interactive cultural programming, from cooking demos to traditional folk crafts and more. Weekly programs will be held on Wednesday mornings.

The Glazer Children’s Museum is taking a digital and hands-on approach to global literacy.  Through books, expert content published on our Facebook page, and now through hands-on demonstrations at the museum's Global Café, Little Global Citizens will help raise the Imagination Generation to be globally aware.

“Our mission calls for us to raise a new generation of learners and leaders,” says Glazer Children’s Museum President and CEO Jennifer Stancil, “so our partnership with Little Global Citizens is meant to innovatively meet and maximize our mission.  By sharing stories of travel, culture, and the differences and similarities we share with other humans around the world, kids feel more connected to the diversity of people and places across this planet. As partners, we’re transporting kids into a new way of thinking about the world.”
